February 2nd: spinach, Amazon; summer cabbage, Tinty and Dutchman; kale, Reflex; peppers, De Cayenne and Californian Wonder; Red Baron onion sets potted up; Spraxia corms set into pots.
February 3rd: garlic, Cristo planted out; hybrid tea-rose Pascali planted out; replacement gooseberry Invicta planted out.
February 10th: aubergine, Rosa Bianca.
February 13th: shallots, Vigarmor.
February 17th: tomato, Moneymaker.
March 3rd: planted out kale and Dutchman cabbage seedlings.
March 10th: planted out Red Baron and Centurion onion sets.
March 18th: sowed cosmos, zinnia and pheasant’s eye flower seed.
March 24th: sowed coriander and dill seed.
March 31st: sowed marigold, cosmos, alyssum, sweetpeas and a summer annuals mix called orange and gold; sowed cineraria and small leafed basil bought in Cordoba last summer, also sowed 3 more pots of sweet basil.
April 6th, Greenfingers Day: sowed rocket and lettuce leaf mix; put the tomato, kale and cabbage seedlings to bed.
April 13th: sowed earth-walker sunflower seed, and Christmas butternut squash seed.
April 19th: planted a new crab-apple tree (2 years old?)
April 20th: sowed Giant Yellow and Earth-Walker sunflower seed; sowed pumpkin seed,Invincible. Planted out Ailsa Craig onion seedlings; sowed parsnip seed, Tender and True.
April 28th: Solo, Detroit and Early Wonder beetroot; Bright Lights chard.
April 30th: Main crop potatoes, Desiree; Melon, Red Star.
May 10th: Courgettes, Greenshaft; Pumpkins, Jack O’Lantern; Cucumber, Tasty King; French Beans, purple Cascade; Mrs Dirtdigger planted out the summer colour…
May 17th: Sweet Genovese Basil 3 pots; Lettuce, Rosedale;
May 25th: Nero de Toscana, kale.
June 8th: successional sowings rocket, lettuce, kale,,,
